When I think about worship, my heart always goes back to the Scriptures that have shaped me most deeply: “Speak to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord” (Ephesians 5:19). “The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in His love He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing” (Zephaniah 3:17). And “God inhabits the praises of His people” (Psalm 22).
These verses remind me that worship is not just music—it’s a holy conversation, a place where heaven touches earth. To me, worship is about more than a setlist or the sound of a band. It’s about creating a sacred space where people can meet with Jesus, be healed in His presence, and be reminded of who they are in Him.
My philosophy of worship has always been deeply relational. I never want worship to feel like a performance—it’s not about perfect vocals or flawless transitions. It’s about gathering together as sons and daughters to sing to God, not just about Him. In worship, we bring our whole selves before the Lord—our joys, our sorrows, our questions—and we trust that He meets us right there.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of serving as a worship pastor, leading through my ministry Flourish and Thrive, and partnering with several other ministries to help God’s people encounter Him. I also have the joy of serving in worship ministry at my local church, where I get to walk alongside my community in lifting high the name of Jesus. Each time I lead, my heart’s desire is the same: that people would encounter the love of Jesus in a tangible way. I want every gathering to become a sacred space, where the weight of His presence is felt and the name of Jesus is lifted high.
This is my calling, my joy, and my offering—to lead people in to God's Holy presence where grace, mercy, love, healing and peace can be found through the sacred gift of worship.
Blessings,
Melissa ❤️
